Here is the letter that is coming home in your child's folder today regarding the upcoming winter concert that will take place on Thursday, December 5th!
November 19, 2019
Dear Parents and Guardians,We are excitedly getting ready ready to present our winter concerts for this year. The kindergarten-2nd graders will perform their concert based on the picture book “Over and Under the Snow”on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Grades 3-5, as well as 4-6th grade chorus and advanced band students, will be presenting a concert titled “Winter’s Playground” on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 6:30 pm. You should bring your child to school ten-fifteen minutes prior to the start of the concert so they can line up with their classmates. Please drop your child off at his or her classroom so they can walk as a class to the gym. It is expected that all students sit with their class for the duration of the concert. At the end of the concert, the students will be dismissed back to their classrooms to get coats and wait there for you to pick them up. If you have family or friends who are unable to attend but would like to see the show, have them log on to our website and watch the live streaming feed during our show.
Children should be dressed in their “concert best.” That means boys should wear dress pants and nice shirt or sweater and girls should wear a dress, skirt and blouse or dress pants and a nice shirt. Remember skirts appear shorter on stage and the lights are bright so some materials become see-through. J am asking that your child not wear t-shirts with writing on them or worn jeans. Also, don’t forget to bring shoes (no heels)if you wear boots to get to school. Becoming a performer requires the proper dress as well as the proper behavior. If you are in need of concert attire, please call me as I have a few items I can loan.
If you know ahead of time that your child is not going to make the show, please let me know. It can be challenging for classes that practice with whole classes and then are missing a number of classmates so now they are standing in new spots, have to sing louder or in some cases have to cover a part that they have not practiced. I will assume anyone who is absent from school on the concert day will not be there and anyone whois at school will be coming back. I look forward to seeing you at the concert. If you have any questions please call me at school email me at mdunbar-cloutier@cesvt.net.
Excitedly,
Marie Dunbar-Cloutier Music Teacher
