Muscle words, letters and special circles!

I can't believe that Halloween is almost here! Teaching kindergarten the week of Halloween is a tough gig, wish me luck!

Letters
Today the students were introduced to 2 new letters: b for bat and p for pan.

Both of these letters are "bubble letters" and it can be tricky for students to remember to put the "bubble" in the correct place.

Restorative Circles
Over that past 2 years the teachers and staff at our school have been trained in implementing Restorative Circles. These "special circles" can be used to help solve a problem that we are having in the classroom or can be used to be proactive about and upcoming change or event. Here is what our circles look like and some of the special tools that we use only during our meetings.
Today we had a special circle about having a guest teacher because I will be out of the classroom all day tomorrow to attend a district wide kindergarten math meeting. This will be the first time that the students are having a guest teacher for more than an hour. The students shared during our circle about they can do to help make the guest teacher feed good about our classroom. Please chat with your child tonight to remind them about expected behavior.
