Coins, coins, coins!

Next week during math time we will be focusing on coins! It is the final week that our class will be collecting change for the Big Change Round Up for kids to benefit the UVM Children's Hospital so what a great time to master identifying them! 

Each day next week we will focus on a different coin. We will investigate the coins with magnifying glasses, learn about who is on them, practice our skip counting using their value, and sing songs about them. We will also focus each day on how many of that coin you need to make a dollar. 

 I am encouraging students to bring in the coin of the day (1 or many!) to use for our lesson and to be donated to the BCRU. Of course, if you are not able to send in the coins I have some here that we can use. 
Monday- Quarters
Tuesday- Dimes
Wednesday- Nickles
Thursday- Pennies
